Light and Dark Brownies




(Tastespotting recipe)

Ingredients – serves 20 – 3 points per serve

dark mixture
  • 125g Flora Ultra Light Margarine
  • 60g Nestle dark chocolate melts
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 2/3 cup sr flour
  • 100g dark chocolate bits (or chopped chocolate)

light mixture

  • 250g softened cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup castor sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method


  • Preheat oven to 180C. Spray and line a square cake tin.


  • Assemble dark mixture by heating butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat until just melted. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt. Add flour and choc bits and pour into cake tin.


  • Assemble light mixture by whisking together all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth and dollop over brownie mixture and swirl with a knife.


  • Bake for 40 minutes until centre is just set. cool completely before removing from tin.
